With Terrell Owens starring again as The World's Biggest Drama King, here's a quick thought: more than a few bosses in sports have heard of Albert Einstein, but they likely don't know that he opined, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Actually, they just don't care. Otherwise, Eric Mangini wouldn't keep getting jobs, especially as somebody's head coach.

What were those who run the Cleveland Browns thinking?

It’s often said that a team with two quarterbacks really doesn’t have any. With that spirit in mind, FanHouse will keep you updated weekly on NFL teams facing potential quarterback controversies.

We’re here every week, hoping to make some sense of quarterback issues facing teams in the NFL. Sometimes, it feels like we’re picking on Eric Mangini and the Cleveland Browns. However, at 0-3, and with little reason to think the problems in the passing game are just going to disappear, the Browns again find themselves at the top of the heap.

Coach Raheem Morris made the move Monday, a day after the Bucs fell to 0-3 while gaining just 86 yards total offense in a 24-0 loss to the New York Giants.

With attention spans dwindling, we forego full game-by-game previews to give you the essentials you need to know about every contest this glorious NFL weekend. We call it The Once-Over.

The Early Games

Carolina (0-1) at Atlanta (1-0):
Jake Delhomme has won four of his last six starts against the Falcons but the only history that matters to the Panthers at this point is his recent history -- as in last week's four-interception debacle and subsequent benching in the third quarter (yes, it took less then three quarters for Delhomme to throw four picks).

There are certainly worse ways to make a living than being a backup quarterback in the NFL. After all, you get paid a handsome six-figure salary (or, perhaps, an eight-figure salary if your name happens to be Jake and you're currently on a short leash with a certain team in Carolina) to get a front-row seat to watch the best of the best do their thing on Sundays. Plus, in most cities, you're automatically the most popular guy in town because everyone assumes you can do a better job than the starter. Honestly, it's not a bad gig.

So, having said all of that, I'm not going to feel too bad for Josh Johnson, the second-year quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, even after head coach Raheem Morris gave this pep talk following the team's loss to Dallas on Sunday: "I've talked about him being my Jason Garrett, that career backup."

You can't predict injuries. Even the most injury-prone players are often able to run seven yards without being broken in half, so it's unfair to say that a major lost-time injury doesn't come as a surprise. This week, we find quarterback situations around the league impacted by injuries, ineffectiveness, checkdowns, and interceptions.

Tony Romo launched the post-T.O. era Sunday with a career-best 353 yards passing,
including three long touchdowns that keyed a 34-21 victory and ruined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ debut under coach Raheem Morris.

The Cleveland Browns still have not announced whether Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson will start Sunday against the Vikings.

There are some unusual circumstances surrounding the quarterback position as we enter Week 1 of the NFL season. There is still one team that has yet to formally announce its starter for Sunday, while others can expect to face questions about their signal-callers unless things go really, really well.
