ILLE, Tenn. -- The good news for the Arizona Cardinals is they gained a chance to measure themselves in this 24-10 preseason head-knocking dispensed by the Tennessee Titans on Monday night at LP Field. The bad news for the Arizona Cardinals is that they will be sticking around for possibly more punishment. They practice against the Titans on Wednesday at Tennessee's complex. And if the Cardinals bring the same go-through-the-motion intensity, the same ill-advised approach on how to handle pressure, well, the Titans will be more than happy to smack them around for more exercise and amusement.
"OK, so obviously not our best effort tonight," said Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt, hardly amused.
"There are no ifs, ands or buts about it," Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett said. "We just need to be better than that."
Wise and savvy 10-year safety Adrian Wilson surmised: "I think we are still developing an identity. It is still very much being shaped on both sides of the ball."
It starts at quarterback.

For evidence of how the NFL is a change-on-the-fly league look no further than this year's Tennessee Titans. They're changing quickly, but they have a chance to do so without a major decline.
The Titans, a team that went 13-3 to win the AFC South in 2008, came close to rallying for a post-season position despite an 0-6 start last season. Now, they are favored by many to push the Colts in the division despite a major turnover involving former core players.

Like Darelle Revis, Cortland Finnegan Learns to Cover from Both Sides
Filed under: Titans, AFC South
Cortland Finnegan has been one of the NFL's best corners in recent seasons. Now, the Tennessee Titans and Finnegan want him to be something more - not just a good right cornerback, but an elite-level corner in the sense that he can move all over the field and cover the opponent's best receiver wherever that receiver lines up.
That's big-time, Darrelle Revis-type stuff.
But for Finnegan, that's what 2010 training camp is about.
"It feels like I'm improving in some areas," Finnegan told Teresa Walker of the Associated Press. "Some areas I still need some major work. If I continue to work on the little things, by the first game I'll be ready for it."
