Terrell Owens / Cedric Benson won`t be suspended

For offseason bar fight arrest

The NFL won't punish Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson for his offseason arrest involving an alleged bar fight in Texas. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement Friday that he's satisfied Benson understands his responsibilities as a football player and a public figure. Benson met with Goodell and other league officials last week. (Cincinnati Bengals)

FF Today's Take: Benson was the key to Cincinnati`s offense last season, piling up 1251 rushing yards on 301 attempts in just 13 games. He may see a decrease in touches this season with a slightly more pass-oriented offense following the additions of Terrell Owens and Antonio Bryant.

Terrell Owens Misses Flight to Cincinnati

Terrell Owens missed his flight but got his number.

When he finally makes it to town - a little late - he'll be wearing his familiar 81.

The Cincinnati Bengals' latest addition missed his overnight flight from the West Coast and had to take a later one on Thursday, delaying his debut at training camp.

The Bengals had planned on him arriving early in the day, taking his physical and signing his one-year contract while the rest of the team held its first workout. They scheduled an introductory news conference after the morning practice.

The news conference had to be rescheduled for after the evening session. Coach Marvin Lewis wasn't sure whether the 36-year-old receiver would arrive in time to work out.

On his Twitter account, Owens posted a note Wednesday night saying he was headed to see a movie. He didn't explain why he missed his flight on Thursday, but confirmed that his news conference had to be rescheduled.

"My Press conf about my "Decision" 2 take my talents 2 Cincy will b held 2nite after 7pm practice!!" he tweeted, playing off LeBron James' one-hour television show announcing his decision to leave Cleveland.

Owens also misspelled Cincinnati in one of his tweets and was quickly corrected by a follower.

"Okayyyyyy I got it now, 2 n's & 1 t! CINCINNATI!! LOL!" he tweeted.

Marvin Lewis Thinks He Can Manage Owens, Ochocinco

Marvin Lewis does not have his eyes blindfolded or his ears muffed. He was not under hypnosis when Terrell Owens came onboard the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday night.

He said this move has been in discussion since March.

"We wouldn't have done it if it wasn't something I was not completely comfortable with or wanted," Lewis said. "My coaches wanted it. My players wanted it."

They got it. T.O., the total package. Playmaker and perplexing persona. The good, the bad, the ugly, the hype.

This was a rather simple equation for Lewis, the Bengals' coach, and for Mike Brown, the Bengals' owner.

The Bengals won their division last season. They lost in a home divisional playoff game to the Jets. The Bengals were three victories shy of being champions.

This is about options. Movement. "Cheese," Lewis explained.
